Before building our online gallery we went to buyers, fine art collectors, and asked what they wanted and they told us. We were amazed by their answers.
Here's what we learned!
Keep the number of artists low - not hundreds or thousands of artists (they told us they wouldn't sift through them) and the quality of the work high!
Collectors suggested we not lump artists together in alphabetical order or by category or medium! They said that's NOT how they buy fine art.
Collectors told us they didn't like thumbnails! They said they wanted to see more detail, but not images larger than screen size requiring them to scroll down or over.
Collectors told us they weren't interested in seeing an artist's concept of a subject (like a door knob) by illustrating the same subject 10 times in a slightly different color!
Collectors told us they wanted to see sharp, clear digital images of artwork. They said they felt blurry out-of-focus photos, too dark or too light, or with what appeared to be lint or fuzz on them or hung crooked on the wall didn't appear as a professional presentation.
Collectors told us they weren't impressed by starving artists prices. They said they were obviously looking for work they liked, but just as important, they're also looking for top quality artwork they'd consider a good investment.
How do we operate WorldsBestART.com?
All artwork is juried before acceptance.
ALL artwork is professionally hung to compliment the piece hanging beside it and enhance the value and profitability of ALL the work in the Gallery.
We limit the number of artists on the site. We will NEVER have thousands of artists in our online fine art gallery! The Gallery will NEVER go beyond 20 pages with no more than 10 digital images per page!
Pages in our Gallery change at least every 30 days! The artwork is moved, replaced, and/or exchanged to keep fine art collectors coming back to see more.
Participating artists are encouraged to submit new BIO material and artwork images frequently so images can be replaced and BIO page can be kept up-to-date with the latest information.
A personal gallery is built for every participating artist which holds up to 10 images of their work. Collectors can then click on the images to view each piece almost full-screen with title, dimensions, and price.
How is traffic directed to the site?
Great question! When artists have their own site who else besides them promotes it? No one, right? Well, here, EVERYONE involved with this site - including the management team of artist associates and ALL participating artists promotes our online fine art gallery. Therefore, we ALL benefit from each other's traffic!
We're listed on ALL major search engines: Go to any search engine, Google or Alta Vista, and type WorldsBestART, Artist's name and WorldsBestART, or Artist's name in search box and see the results.

Do we take a percentage from the sale of participating artists' artwork?
No! Since our team's work appears here too, we make money the same way our participating artists do: When their artwork sells - they make money. When our work sells - we make money.

Note: We do not jury work online by visiting your personal web page or other art-related sites. Also, please understand, part of our evaluation process may include a brief telephone interview with our Executive Director, Doyle Pitman. Therefore, your request for submission information must include your name, full postal mailing address, a day or evening phone number, and the best time to reach you.
