Karen Jayne's love for art began as a child. However, her love of adventure and life also attracted her to aviation. Karen began flying at an early age. Then, later on, learned how to repair aircraft and in 1978 began working for a major airline. She acquired her degrees in applied science and majored in art since the 1960's. In 1972 Karen become a professional artist when she received her first commission. She enjoys portraiture and her level of skill advanced to using the Old Master's techniques in oils that are taught in Europe. Her mentors were Ed Kanwischer and Miriam Eaton who studied the Old Masters techniques in France. These techniques and renderings are used exclusively in her oil paintings. Karen has a love of life, adventure, fine art and music. Her free style shows in her work. With her extensive aviation background, she adds flavor and knowledge to this topic. Other favorite subjects include animals, equine art, people and landscapes. Her love of horses goes back to her childhood and her family's draft horses, which brought many enjoyable memories. She also works in watercolor, pastels and other medium to create her paintings. To fulfill her love for music, Karen Jayne is currently studying classical guitar and saxophone. Karen Jayne has the willingness and skills that made her the artist who delights in professional renderings. The Old Master's is a field in which the medium is always enjoyed in different applications and techniques. The richness it offers is truly delightful. Master's Touch Art Studio, Karen's professional studio opened in 1987. In 1989 she was accepted into the American Society of Portrait Artists (ASOPA). Karen's works hang in many corporate and private collections around the country, from New York to Florida and west to Hawaii.
